Summer 2024 — Berlin
The Apropos After Party
When I first received the email that our first-ever client would be the Apropos Concept Store in Berlin, we couldn’t believe what the fuck had just happened. After we signed the papers, Johannes and I immediately knew: we had to throw a big afterparty — just like back in the days in our hometown.
I remember Johannes telling me: “My dear friend Moritz and Leonie’s gallery is just two minutes away by foot. Let’s host the party there.” So we asked, they said yes, and as soon as the buzz of the opening day slowly settled, around 100 tipsy men and women made their way up to the VRB Gallery.
I remember the euphoria. It was the first warm summer night, and people just wouldn’t stop dancing and drinking. Around 1 a.m. I went to the Späti, bought ten bottles of vodka, and we had shots right there on the spot. When I re-entered the gallery, everyone was either dancing or fighting for a spot on the terrace to have a cigarette.
Johannes — a genuinely talented DJ — wasn’t exactly nailing the transitions that night. Later he told me he had forgotten his headphones. If you ask me, he had just one too many, haha.
It was one of those special nights where nobody wanted to go home or stop — except for the neighbors. They called the police, and around 3 a.m. the party was forced to end.
I remember looking at Johannes, and we both just started laughing, because deep down we knew: that party was the pure intention of what we wanted the brand to feel like. Not polished or perfect — but spontaneous, raw, and filled with the right people.
See you at the next party, peeps.
